Mark your calendars for June 28–29, 2025, as the Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network (SATERN) hosts its annual Field Day event at Irvington Volunteer Fire Department Station 2, located at 7111 Stargrass Rd, Omaha NE (72nd Street north past Highway 36. Just north of the North Omaha Airport) PLEASE NOTE - the ADDRESS is WRONG in THE June Ham Hum!
ARRL Field Day is the largest on-air operating event in North America, drawing tens of thousands of amateur radio operators into the field for a weekend of real-time communication, technical challenge, and community outreach. Whether you're a seasoned ham or brand new to the hobby, Field Day is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills, test your equipment, and enjoy the camaraderie of working alongside others who share your passion for radio.
SATERN’s Field Day setup will include full field operations, logging. There will be oportunies for you to get on the air! No experience? No problem, we were once new operators as well!
Operators and guests alike are encouraged to stop by and discover how the Salvation Army (and SATERN) do the most good after a disaster, as well support local first responders. There is always something happening with SATERN
If you're interested in participating, operating a station, helping with setup, or just want to observe, we welcome your involvement. For details contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
This year’s theme—"Radio Connects"—reminds us that beyond the gear and signals, it's the relationships we build that make amateur radio
truly powerful.
