Be sure to attend the January 12th meeting .   Our speaker this month is Rob Sherwood, NCØB, the founder of Sherwood Engineering which offered Rob NC0B rooing filters and upgrade kits for the Drake R-4C.

First licensed at the age of 14 in 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio and he quickly upgraded from Novice to General.   In 1969, he graduated collage with a degree in physics and moved to Denver where he worked as an engineer for KOA until 1987.

In 1974, he founded Sherwood Engineering.  Two years later, in 1976, he started measuring receiver preformance on dozens of radios.  In 1977 a "ham radio magazine" published the first of many articles he authored on receiver problems and cures, vertical antenna ground systems and mobile antenna efficiancy.  Many of those articles are available at his web site . The site also contains "the list" of receiver test data on more than 150 receivers and transceivers. You can find that information at .

In the 1980s, Rob was invited several times to be a forum speaker at Dayton Hamvention, discussing both receiver and antenna performance issues.  He was invited back to speak at Hamvention in 2004, 2007 and 2009.   Rob has spoken numerous DX and other ham radio conventions and gatherings.

Rob will share with us his undeniable expertise on Receiver Performance.   Be sure to bring a friend and spread the word!  All Ak-Sar-Ben Amateur Radio Club meetings are open to anyone with an interest in amateur radio.   Meeting starts at 7:00 pm at the Red Cross at 81st and Spring Streets in Omaha.
